Today, May 19, 2024  we had the honor of presenting the first ever M.A.D.D.I.E Scholarships.

Philippians 2:14-15 - Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, 'children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.' Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky." 

As we have prayed and trusted God’s will for this scholarship and his plan we realized that two individuals have been exactly what this scholarship is all about. This award is about selfless acts of kindness and compassion. Making a difference daily inspiring everyone. It’s about being a light and shining like a star in the dark so others may see God through you. These two individuals have spoken to us numerous times about applying and we know they both had something ready but it was never turned in. Both of them watched out for the other: one felt the other was more deserving and the other didn’t want to take away the opportunity from someone else. What better way to honor the first ever M.A.D.D.I.E scholarships than giving it to the two individuals who were selfless and showed compassion first hand for someone else. 

Today we awarded both of these students $1,000 scholarships and we have named a star after each of them. It was our honor to present these awards to Catherine Riddle and Matthew Starling. 

To Matthew & Cat: We are so proud of each of you and love you both. We hope that as you look upon your star it serves as a reminder of God’s love, the light you bring into the world and the countless lives you’ve touched. Thank you for being a shining example of kindness and compassion.

Please take a moment to congratulate these students if you see them out and about. Also, pray for them as they start a new chapter of their lives. Pray that God will use them to be a light as they both attend college. Pray for his love and protection over them.
